Cyberset Music is happy to announce the release of ‘SubTropic EP’ by Bird Of Prey, the EP   includes collaborations with Random and Chillax’n, both iof whom have been making a name for themselves in Psy-trance production and producing good ‘Psy-chill’ .

The EP delves in dubstep and drum & bass for urban influences and yet maintains a high level of cerebral stimulating frequencies and effects not commonly found in many urban genres, this ultimately produces a euphoric and ultimately ethereal quality to the tunes whihc also vary greatly in beat structure and rhythm. This journey is both stimulating and exciting.

Cyberset is proud to announce the signing of the Subtropic EP by Bird Of Prey. Fusing Dubstep, Drum & Bass, Progressive and Trance influences, Bird Of Prey makes forays into new and exciting territories, taking quality bits from each of his influences and fusing them into a cohesive new sound.

Bird of Prey is the project of San Francisco bay area native Torin Goodnight. Creating electronic music for close to a decade, he has developed a unique take on various influences. His music is an attempt to hybridize various genres, fusing the swirling sensibilities of psychedelic sound with hard hitting dub and breaks vibes. Combining aggressive basslines, twisted leads, and colorful atmospheres to create a diverse and immersive soundscape. His recent success on Vapor Vent Recordings, many licensed tracks to compilations and now an EP on Cyberset Music has put this artist on the map, already being compared in diversity and freshness to the emergence of early Shpongle and groundshaking evolutions in ‘Psychedelic chillout music’, Bird Of Prey has quite a few surprises yet to drop on our unsuspecting selves.

Yubaba

Active artists for many years on the Brazilian downtempo and trance music genre scenes, Pedro Gomide and Frederico Drummond, make up the unique sounds that we call Yubaba .
They have played full festival circuits in Brazil and USA, being part of the growth of the downtempo scene in both countries. They joined their skills in this project where mixing influences from their roots, they touch the listeners recreating the eclectic and open minded mood you could only find in Brasil. Featuring different musicians as the singers Thailan, Blacklight and Nathalia, the trumpet player Dan Covan and brazilian percussionists, Yubaba evolves from dub into lounge with a trip hop feeling and an electro taste. Having just released a Compilation for the main Yoga Center in Brazil,Institute De Rose, and another Compilation for Amsterdam Siberie Coffee Shop ,Fred comes from a background of playing in rock and heavy metal bands since the age of 12, in 1998 he started producing experimental electronic music in the Brazilian house/techno scene. Since then, tuning his sound more to the psychedelic style he has been DJ’ing full-on trance and downtempo in South America, England, Holland, Austria, Spain, Hungary and USA.
Producing events and Djing for many years in Brazil and US, Pedro quickly established himself as an influential artist in the American continent downtempo scene - touring on the regular basis, serving as resident DJ and events coordinator at CoSM(Alex Grey’s Chapel of the Sacred Mirrors), as a label DJ for Interchill Records, resident of Supperclub and producer of events with Symbiosis.
After a very fun and successful premiere at Symbiosis in California they toured the Brazilian summer playing to cheerful listeners and dancers at Universo Paralello and other parties, they have also been featured at Boom and Transcendance.

Aria

Aria is saturated with many layers of varied vocal sounds, the sampled Indian melodies of ‘Risen’ to the sublime operatic vocal of Samantha Ray on ‘Chatoyant’, the heavily processed synth-like vocals of ‘Vision’ to the haunting male voices of the Shabaton choir on the Drum & Bassy ‘Shimmer’, create a voyage of discovery and a journey through the emotions, moments of sheer tranquility giving way to breathtaking rushes of ecstasy.

Pete Ardron

No stranger to creating sacred chill spaces and taking an audience on an aural frequency mind trip, Pete Ardron has been doing this for more than a decade and released outstanding albums on Liquid Sound and compilation tracks on Universal Egg and Ultra Vista Recordings. Last year Cyberset Music realized that Pete Ardron had music not seeing global release after working on his ‘Birth’ album on Liquid Sound and we jumped on the opportunity. Pete (along with Ott) has also recently been asked to remix New Zealand band Terra 9 and is currently touring the UK festival circuit extensively.

The multi-talented Pete Ardron has dabbled and led the way in various forms for production for much of the past decade. He is a Producer, Mastering Engineer, Remixer, Co-Writer and Design artist and is also well known under the name ‘Orchid Star’ which he has created as a group to perform at various festivals and events in addition to his other DJ and performance projects.

Pete DJs regularly for people like The Synergy Project, Planet Angel, ID Spiral, Bingly Bongly, One Tribe, Edensounds, Sofa Sundaze and Kalahari, and has played at festivals such as Glastonbury, Glade, Sunrise, Waveform and Turaya, generally mixing a fair amount of tunes from his own projects with the more beat driven side of psychedelic and global chill and dub.
Pete Ardron is in his element in chill-out rooms where there’s still space to get people dancing.
His album ‘Inside The Voice Inside’ is a brand new addition to the Cyberset catalog and we will be releasing his album ‘Aria’ in summer 2009.

Ocean Shiver is a project by Vlad Orlov who has been evolving his luscious atmospheres, sound design and textures of sound since 2002. Originally recording under the aliases ‘Cj Axid’ and ‘Rainfield’ his early projects were mostly classified under trance, house and progressive house, this new album delves deeper into creating chillout spaces, atmospheres and lush environments while still featuring some of Vlad’s signature progressive production style.
